The Duke of York attended the annual Ministry of Defence (MoD) Apprentice Awards Ceremony at the MoD Main Building in Whitehall, London on 4th December, 2014.
The Ministry of Defence Apprentice Awards focuses on engineering and works with the professional engineering institutions to encourage the development of these skills. Apprentices from schemes based around the country meet to share ideas and build relationships across the engineering community.
HRH presented awards at the annual MoD Apprentice Awards Prize Giving, congratulating the apprentices on their hard work and dedication. The Apprentice of the Year Winner was awarded to Emma Quigley, who graduated from the MoD apprentice scheme in Plymouth.
Speaking on the importance of apprenticeships to the United Kingdom, The Duke said “We need more Apprentices for our own prosperity.”
