The Duke of York, Patron of The Peter Jones Foundation, hosted the 2015 Tycoon in Schools Prize Giving at Buckingham Palace on 14th March, 2016.
The Prize Giving was attended by students and staff from each of the eight finalist schools, and supporters of The Peter Jones Foundation.
Tycoon in Schools gives students the opportunity to run a business over a month of trading.
Since its launch in 2012, more than 4000 young Entrepreneurs have set up their own businesses.
Peter Jones, founder of Tycoon in Schools, congratulated the eight finalist teams and said “today is a celebration of your success.”
The winner of the event was Tyre Fires from Tavistock College who received £1000 in funding from The Peter Jones Foundation to develop their business idea. Tyre Fires creates unique fire pits using recycled wheel trims.
Awards were also presented to:
- The Dunraven Publishing House from Dunraven School
- Deluxe from Flixton Girls High School
- Teens 2 Go from Eastwood High School
Runner up certificates were awarded to:
- Strike a Pose from Chattenden Primary School
- RustiQ from Queen Anne’s School
- We Cann from Cann Bridge School
- Essence Candles from AKS Lytham School
His Royal Highness said “Congratulations to all of you for taking part in Tycoon in Schools. It has been fascinating to see that each year the ideas become more innovative and exciting.”
