The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, The Yorkshire Regiment, unveils the new Yorkshire Regiment Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum.

The Duke of York, Colonel-in-Chief, The Yorkshire Regiment, attended the Unveiling and Dedication of ‘The Keeper of the Souls’ at the National Memorial Arboretum for The Yorkshire Regiment.

The Keeper of the Souls is a permanent reminder of the members of the Regiment that have died in service. The design is a commemorative statue based on the York Minister’s Lady Chapel.

A short service was conducted by the Regimental Chaplain, Reverend Canon D.E. Wilkes, CB, OBE.

HRH also met with representatives from the Regiment and their families, before being interviewed for a future edition of The Antiques Roadshow to be aired on Remembrance Sunday.

His Royal Highness made a short tour of the National Memorial Arboretum with Chief Executive Charles Bagot Jewitt and Curator Mr Paul Kennedy.
