To mark The Queen’s 80th birthday, the Information Office at Buckingham Palace has produced a commemorative timeline specially for schools.

Eye-catching and colourful, the wall chart shows some of the many historic events and social changes which have taken place within the last 80 years, from the first trans-Atlantic flight to London’s winning bid for the 2012 Olympics. These are shown alongside key events from The Queen’s life.

The timeline fits in with Key Stage 2 History requirements – in particular, Unit 13: How has life in Britain changed since 1948? and Unit 20: What can we learn about recent history from studying the life of a famous person?

At 2.1m long x 0.27m deep, it is ideal for display on classroom walls.
