Princess Beatrice visited York on 9th June, 2016.
Her Royal Highness started the day with a visit to York Minster, where she met with creative and production teams and the community-cast of the York Mystery Plays. The York Mystery Plays bring to life historical stories of the city of York. Princess Beatrice also met with apprentices involved with the restoration of the Great East Window, and the York Minster ‘Mystery Makers’ volunteer group.
HRH then moved on to the York Chocolate Story to meet chocolatiers, and managers from York tourist attractions including those affected by the recent floods. The York Chocolate Story offers a guided tour through the history of York’s chocolate making facilities.
Later, Princess Beatrice, Patron, visited the York Theatre Royal to see the theatre’s redevelopments and to meet with the York Theatre Royal Choir. During the visit, HRH watched a performance of The Tempest. Princess Beatrice said “I am thrilled to be back at the theatre and to see the wonderful improvements that have been made to this important and historic building.”
