The Duke of York Peer to Peer Coding Challenge

A competition to engage some of the UK’s brightest young computer programming talent in coding challenges has been launched by The Duke of York and Young Rewired State.

Running for six weeks, The Duke of York: Peer to Peer Challenge will see young programmers engaging in a coding challenge to design and submit prototype websites, games, apps and videos to an elite panel of judges.Participants will choose to take on one of five coding challenges, such as creating a website to help allay parental concerns about the digital space, or designing an app or video tutorial to make it easier for others to get into programming.

Supported by Young Rewired State’s established network of mentors, participants will develop software solutions to these challenges which they’ll upload to the competition website to be judged.

The competition closes on 12th April and the winners will be invited to Buckingham Palace to receive their awards from The Duke.

The aim of the initiative is to encourage and enthuse more young people to discover and use programming and digital skills – a goal on which Young Rewired State was founded in 2008.
