The Duke of York visits Leeds

On 4th March 2014, The Duke visited Leeds to attend four engagements, primarily supporting Apprenticeships in the region.

HRH’s visit began at Leeds College of Building where he toured the Brickwork and Roofing Workshop, meeting with a number of Apprentices and Tutors at the College. The Duke then moved onto Leeds City College where he opened the new Printworks Campus – offering young people fantastic facilities and opportunities to learn skills in a range of professions.

In the afternoon, HRH attended the Leeds City Region Business Conference where he launched the Leeds City Region Apprenticeship Challenge 2014 – focused on encouraging SMEs in the region to take on 1000 Apprentices in the coming year. The Duke finally met with Apprentices nominated for Awards at the Leeds Apprenticeship Awards.
