Pembury Estate Ladder for London announcement

The Duke of York visited the Peabody-owned Pembury Estate in Dalston on 11th June 2013, to help announce a new partnership between a Peabody-led consortium of 17 construction companies and Ladder for London, of which HRH is Patron. The consortium of construction companies announced that it was creating 161 new apprenticeship opportunities, bringing the total number of new apprenticeships created by the Ladder for London campaign since its launch in September 2012 to 900.

While visiting the Pembury Estate The Duke met with a number of apprentices working for construction companies Ardmore and Bellway, who are working on a new development on the estate. HRH also attended the Pembury Apprenticeship Fair and met hopeful apprentices and construction companies from the new Peabody consortium. This included Lakehouse, who were at the fair in an effort to fill some of the 50 apprenticeship opportunities they had just committed to the Ladder for London campaign.
