The Duke of York meets the Westminster Academy Air Cadets

The Duke attended the attended the inaugural Parade of the Westminster Academy Air Cadets at their school in London. His Royal Highness is a Visitor of the school, a comprehensive school that provides an award-winning education for over 1000 young people.

The school recently launched their RAF Combined Cadet Force (CCF), which is an opportunity for the students to be trained in military drill and presentation, aerospace engineering, field craft and soldiering. It is an excellent way to give the students a sense of pride, duty, camaraderie, determination and discipline that they will carry with them throughout their time in the cadets and beyond.

The Duke addressed the Parade, who were inspected by Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty, Commandant of the RAF Air Cadets. His Royal Highness was then given a demonstration of the leadership and first-aid skills the cadets have been learning as part of their training.
