The Duke of York, Admiral Sea Cadets Corps visited Methil Sea Cadets at TS AJAX in Methil, Fife to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the training ship on 3 July, 2018.
On arrival, HRH inspected a Guard of Honour and took part in a Colours ceremony. The Duke of York then inspected the band before watching presentations on the Training Ship’s work in the community. HRH met with parents of Cadets and presented the Cadet Services Medal to Chief Petty Officer Lynda Webster, who is also a Paediatric Nurse, to mark her 20 years of service.
The Duke of York addressed the detachment and parents saying:
“Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t achieve something. Have faith in yourself and have faith in the discipline and skills taught to you here by the Sea Cadets.”
HRH unveiled a plaque to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Methil Sea Cadets.
