K is for Kings
There have been kings in Britain since Anglo Saxon times. Since 1066 there have been 37 kings. The king who reigned for the shortest time was King Edward V, who was only 13 years old when he became king.
His uncle ruled on his behalf but then sent Edward and his brother to the Tower of London. His uncle then became King Richard III and the two princes were never seen again. King Edward V had the shortest reign of any king because he was king only from April to June 1483. |
