Yesterday afternoon The Duke of York arrived in China to undertake an official visit from 31st October to 6th November 2018 at the request of Her Majesty’s Government. On arrival, HRH was received by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the People’s Republic of China, Her Excellency Dame Barbara Woodward.
Today The Duke of York visited Peking University HSBC Business School and opened the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. HRH toured the PHBS building with PHBS Dean Wen Hai who discussed the building’s architectural conception and facilities, as well as the school’s teaching philosophy
Following the tour, The Duke of York met with a number of PHBS faculty and discussed the programmes at PHBS focussed on entrepreneurship, finance and other areas.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the PHBS Future Media Laboratory
HRH attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the PHBS Future Media Laboratory. This excellent facility is equipped with an advanced video studio, and will provide a professional platform for financial news teaching, research and practice for PHBS faculty and students.
Finally, The Duke of York and distinguished guests were welcomed to the school’s grand hall and auditorium where HRH delivered a keynote speech on innovation and entrepreneurship while introducing the establishment, development and vision of [email protected]
The Duke of York then called upon Mr. Wang Weizhong, Communist Party Secretary for Shenzhen and attended Luncheon at Shenzhen Government Wuzhou Guesthouse.
HRH later visited Southern University of Science and Technology, SusTech, Nanshan District. The Duke of York visited the 3D campus construction sand table, the Technology Transfer Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition, and the Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center. HRH then met and held talks with SUSTech President Chen Shiyi and Vice President Lu Chun. The Duke of York expressed his appreciation for the cooperation and exchanges between the University and British universities and heard of the planned cooperation between SUSTech and King’s College of London in medical education and scientific research.
