The Duke of York this afternoon witnessed an exchange of letters of understanding and friendship between Oman Cricket and the Marylebone Cricket Club at the Al Amareet Cricket Ground. His Royal Highness heard the progress that Omani Cricket has made in the last few years and met members of the Omani Cricket Board and Omani National Team.

The Duke of York, Executive Chairman, Outward Bound Trust, this morning attended a Reception celebrating the opening of a Desert Training Centre by Outward Bound Oman and witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Outward Bound Oman and Penn State University. The Duke and His Highness Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said heard from young Omanis how Outward Bound had changed their lives and gave a speech on courage and teamwork to the assembled guests.

Later, His Royal Highness presented the Armourers and Braziers award for the best Royal Armoured Corps Troop Leader to Lt Asad Al Busaidi of the Royal Army of Oman.
Lt Al Busaidi was the first overseas student to win the award in its 55 year history.
