The Duke of York visited AkzoNobel on 13th April, 2015. AkzoNobel, headquartered in Amsterdam, is a multi-national company that manufactures paints and speciality chemicals.
The Duke received a briefing on the company before visiting the Colour Studio where a team of specialists develop and manage a number of colour tools and designs. HRH saw how these are used to help stimulate children’s learning or assist navigation for the visually impaired.
The Duke also heard about the work AkzoNobel does with The Outward Bound Trust. AkzoNobel staff from across the UK have volunteered as mentors and regularly attend Outward Bound courses with funded schools. Mentoring for The Outward Bound Trust has now become a part of employees’ Personal Development process at AkzoNobel.
