“After a fifteen year career in the spirit industry spanning R&D, Sales, Marketing and Global, I decided to take the bold step of launching my own gin. I chose a distinctive set of key botanicals: Black Tea, Bergamot, Wood, Pepper and Hay. I also unearthed a past gin glory of Camden Lock by bringing back craft production to the area. What I did not anticipate was being invited by HRH Duke of York to St James’s Palace in November, only six weeks after my launch, and for HALF HITCH Gin to be in the reception cocktail at his [email protected] event supporting British entrepreneurs. With an audience of the Britain’s leading business leaders, this has quickly led to some fantastic introductions and allowed me to bring my premium gin to influential bar industry figures. The power of referrals from these initial advocates has been extraordinary and, whilst it’s still very early days, I have been taken aback by the resulting speed of listings in London’s premier bars and restaurants. There remain of course many hurdles to building my gin business in the UK and beyond but I will be eternally grateful to the exposure that HRH Duke of York and the [email protected] enterprise has given HALF HITCH Gin.”
