Nominet Trust Reception

On 10th December, 2014 The Duke of York attended a reception for Nominet Trust at the recently opened The Trampery Old Street. HRH is Patron of Nominet Trust, a social technology funder which supports social ventures using digital technology in imaginative and innovative ways. Nominet Trust is The Duke’s partner in the iDEA programme which supports 14-25 year olds in developing their ideas into successful digital businesses.

Five Nominet Trust Funded ventures presented at The Trampery:

Open Utility

Open Utility participated in Pitch@Palace 2 in November 2014. It was founded in 2013 and aims to create the first renewable electricity marketplace.

Task Squad

Task Squad provide short-term, flexible, paid work opportunities for young people and match them with companies wanting to fill short-term positions.

Wevolver

Wevolver is an open-source platform where communities can organise collaborative development of hardware projects, in fields such as robotics, machinery and appliances

Our Big Box

Our Big Box combines digital technology with the power of social media to deliver ‘reminiscence sessions’ to prompt discussions, promote interaction, and improve psychological well-being for those with Dementia.

Playlab London

Playlab London is developing Flowy – an interactive game, loaded on your smart-phone that you play using your own breath.

Shift

Shift design consumer products that address social problems by helping people to make better choices.
