The Duke of York visits Wayra’s London Academy

The Duke meeting some of the start-ups at Wayra

The Duke of York visited Wayra’s London academy that played host to the first ever Wayra Enternships Careers Fair.

Wayra is Telefónica’s international start-up accelerator programme. Digital start-ups receive investment and 6-9 months of incubation in a co-working space – a Wayra Academy – with training, mentorship and introductions to investors. In 2013, Wayra Academies in Europe have partnered with Enternships, an online platform for internships and graduate jobs in start-ups.

The Wayra Enternships Careers Fair on Tuesday 11th June, 2013, connected undergraduates and graduates from UK universities with digital startups based at London’s Wayra Academy, enabling them to see first-hand exactly what it would be like to work for a Wayra-accelerated team.

During the visit, The Duke toured the Academy and met start-ups from the 2012 and 2013 Wayra programme including Sponsorcraft, RemovalStars, Insane Logic, iHelp and Delishery.
